Common questions

The app got my dog's breed wrong.

Tap the pencil on the dog's profile and type the correct breed. We'll remember it for next time. You can also tap "No, different dog" on the confirmation prompt to start a new profile.

The translation isn't very accurate.

The model is best with clear, well-lit photos where your dog's face and body are visible. Try a photo with less clutter and try again. If group-photo mode keeps over-counting dogs, use the "ร—" button next to a row in the tagger to dismiss a false positive.

I got a "Slow down a sec" message.

You're hitting the rate limit. Wait a minute and try again. This protects the service from abuse and keeps the AI API bill bounded.

How do I see past translations?

Tap the journal icon (๐Ÿ“”) on your dog's profile card. Each successful translation is auto-saved to that dog's journal. Tap any entry to reopen it, share it, or delete it.

How do I move my dogs to another device?

Tap the Sync button, choose "Sync to another device," and you'll get a 6-character code. On the new device, tap Sync, choose "I have a sync code," and enter it. The code expires in 15 minutes.

Where is my data stored?

Dog profiles and saved journal translations live on our servers, tied to an anonymous device identifier generated automatically. Photos for saved translations are compressed and capped at 220 KB. Photos for one-off analyses you don't save are not retained. See the privacy policy for full details.

How do I delete my data?

Remove a dog from the roster (cascades all of that dog's journal entries) by tapping the trash icon on the profile card. Delete individual journal entries by tapping ๐Ÿ—‘ next to a row. To clear everything on this device, clear the site's storage in your browser settings.

How accurate is the breed identification?

It's a best-effort guess by an AI model from a single photo. It will sometimes be wrong, especially for mixed breeds, puppies, or unusual angles. The app is not a substitute for a DNA test or a vet's assessment.

I want to use the app for vet or training advice.

Please don't. The app is for entertainment. See the terms for the full disclaimer.
